How the lab works
One grading model sits under every report on this site, so a grade in a match card means the same thing as a grade in a season card or a youth file.
Craft
How well a player executes: success rates like pass accuracy, dribble success, shot conversion and save %. Every rate carries a "trust tax": it's pulled towards the pool average until the player has enough attempts to earn it.
Output
How often a player delivers: per-90 volumes like goals, chances, recoveries and clearances. Shrunk by a minutes prior, so cameo numbers don't inflate a grade, with a small boost for players carrying real minutes.
Craft and Output percentiles are blended, but whichever side is elite (above the 80th percentile) earns extra weight, up to 3× at the 100th. Elite at one thing is rarer, and worth more, than decent at both.
From raw data to a file
Collect
Match and season data is pulled for every player in the sample, from the competition the player actually played in.
Shrink
Small samples are pulled towards the average. Three dribbles from three isn’t treated like sixty from seventy-five.
Grade
Every player is scored on Craft (how well they execute) and Output (how often they deliver), weighted by position.
Publish
Each report is built in one house template, checked, then filed here and linked to every player and club it covers.
